About Fr. Joe DiSciacca

About former Pastor: Rev. Joseph V. DiSciacca
2004-2017

Fr. DiSciacca grew up in Enfield, CT. His parents are deceased, but he does have a sister and her family who live in Windsor, CT and a brother and his family who reside in Simsbury, CT.

He attended Enfield’s elementary school and high school and went on to St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, CT. After St. Thomas he attended St. Bonaventure University and Christ the King Seminary. Archbishop Whealon ordained Father DiSciacca in 1973 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford.

Father received a Degree in Spirituality from Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska. Assigned to St. Thomas Seminary he served as Spiritual Director and teacher for 10 years (1984-1994). Pastoral assignments include Sacred Heart Church, Bloomfield, CT and St. Laurent/Our Lady of Mt.Carmel, Meriden, CT .

A great bicycle enthusiast, Father participated in a 500 mile bike ride in New YorkState in July, 2004.

With regards to his new assignment, Father is very pleased that Archbishop Mansell would name him pastor of St. Joseph Church to follow a great line of people.

Our Stained Glass Windows

  News Brief

St. Joseph Church will be hosting the annual Mass of Remembrance on All Souls Day,
Friday, November 2, 2018 at 7 pm.

All of our beloved dead, especial those who have died this past year, will be remembered at this Mass. These names will be read during the prayers of the faithful and a representative for that person will bring up a candle during the presentation of the gifts.

This year, we will also offer additional remembrance by placing luminaries along the walkway to the church.  This is an inspirational display in their honor.  If you would like to have the name of your loved one written on the luminary bag, see someone at the entrance of the church after all the Masses.  A free will donation is appreciated for the luminaries.
